Neck pain

Hello guys, I just started fitness and what I want to ask is... I have neck pain in the last two or three repetitions of the sets after the 3rd set while doing pull downs. And because I'm afraid of hurting my neck, I don't force it and let it go. Do you have any idea what am I doing wrong, how can I do it without hurting my neck? Thank you from now.
